Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Gorgeous 1935 Parker Emerald Pearl Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. This is the Early 1st Generation Parker Vacumatic which is difficult to find especially in the Emerald Pearl.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Three Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has water clear transparency, albeit with very minor ambering. The cap has the Feather Gold Plated Clip with triple ring cap bands displaying a wonderful bright gold filled color with only the slightest wear towards to top of the clip. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the rest of the pen. The barrel is stamped (lightly in some areas) with an imprint that reads, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with a 5 date code (for 1935) in the 3rd quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Standard Size Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors from this era. It measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water in about 12 to 15 presses and it will roughly fill full. This Parker Vac 1st Generation Fountain Pen has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacs. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works as it was originally designed to.

This Parker Vacumatic 14K Nib writes smoothly - it is a real pleasure to write with. The 14K U.S.A Parker NIB has a date code of 5 (for 1935) which makes this a match to the rest of the pen. Measuring the point (iridium) of this Nib, it has a medium point measuring roughly .77mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image has the Nib writing with a medium stroke measuring .61mm and will flex to a double broad stroke of 1.21mm with medium to firm writing pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a gorgeous Parker 1st Generation Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Emerald Pearl Celluloid that has all the "high-line" features; 3-Ring Cap Banding, Striped Section, Striped Top, and Bottom Jewels. I would grade this Parker Vac to be in Excellent Condition with the Barrel clarity being the real standout feature. This Parker Standard 1st Generation Double Jewel Vacumatic is collector grade and is ready to write with or just add to writing arsenal collection.
