For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1935 Parker Silver Mottled Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Jr Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plated Feather Clip, Nickle Plated Two Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and clarity and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has amazing transparency where an individual can easily see through the barrel, it is water clear and close to how it would have let the factory. The cap has the Feather Clip and the Double Cap Bands that display great nickel/silver color with very minor wear. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA PAT with a Date Code of 5, for 1935, in the 2nd Quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted.
This Vacumatic has the correct lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water in about 8-12 presses and it will fill full. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
This Parker has a 14K Parker U.S.A Split Arrow NIB. This NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .72mm when measured with digital calipers and will write with a wet line. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine line to broad stroke. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke that measures .52mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.05mm with medium to very firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. The nib on this pen writes exceptionally smooth!
If you collect the Silver/Gray Pearl Vacumatic then you know how hard it is to find one with clean trim and water clear barrel. This is a gorgeous Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Silver Pearl Mottled Celluloid and would grade it in Excellent condition. This is a collector-worthy Parker Vacumatic with a remarkably clear barrel which is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
