Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous Restored 1940 Parker Emerald Green Pearl Celluloid Double Jewel Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. This Parker Vacumatic has magnificent emerald pearl color.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are is magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with the Chevron Cap Banding, which displays a wonderful rich gold filled color with no brassing. The top jewel and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to shine once again and look great. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 0 in the third quarter". The transparency of the barrel is fantastic, albeit with slight ambering. The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a 2nd Generation Debutante that measures 4 5/8" in length capped and 5 3/8" posted.

The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 6 presses and it will fill full. This 2nd Generation Parker Vacumatic has the correct Speedline filling unit with the Diamond on the end. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

This Parker has the 14K Two-Tone NIB with roughly 95% of the platinum plating still intact - it looks gorgeous with the naked eye. The NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .66mm, measured with digital calipers. The NIB has the split arrow 14K NIB with the correct "0" date code, which matches the year of the body / pen. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke line. With the writing sample provided, the thinnest line measures at a medium .46mm stroke and the double broad line measured at 1.29mm with firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The sample in this listing was completed with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Emerald Green Pearl Celluloid that is in exceptional condition and would grade it in the Excellent to Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
