I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Band, bottom jewel tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, polished and waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This cap displays the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Nickel Plated Clip and Chevron Cap Banding, which display no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and been polished to bring back a beautiful shine, the bottom tassel does display some brassing to the edge high points. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker - Parker Vacumatic - Made in U.S.A. with date code for 1940 in the 1st quarter". The transparency of the barrel is excellent and a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 presses to fill full. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size, which measures 5 1/4" in length capped and 6 1/4" posted.
The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold Split Arrow NIB. The iridium is great and creates a lovely writing experience. The actual writing tip of this 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample, this Parker NIB writes with an extra fine to broad stroke. The writing sample provided in the listing image the thinnest line measures at .40mm with light pressure and the broad line measured 1.03mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a wonderful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Pearl Pearl Celluloid that is in Excellent Condition. This Parker is ready to write or add to your writing arsenal collection.
