Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1946 Parker Blue Diamond Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Blue Diamond Gold Filled Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond gold-filled arrow clip - just as a hint of wear on the top of the clip. The Chevron (///\\\) cap banding is in excellent condition with no wear. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel has a crisp and clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with a date code 6 (for 1946) in the 2nd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is near water clear, albeit, with very minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System has been restored with a new diaphragm and works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-10 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB has a buttery smooth writing 14K gold Split Arrow Medium Point NIB. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers and writes smoothly. The nib carries the same date code as the barrel with a 1946 - Q2 date code - a marriage to the rest of the pen. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to broad line variation. The fine line/stroke measures at .57mm with light pressure and will flex to a broad line of 1.02mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. I have to reiterate that this nib writes extremely smoothly and is a pleasure to write with. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a gorgeous Emerald Pearl color with the highlights on this pen being the near water clear barrel, great emerald green color, crisp imprint, ultra-smooth writing nib, and a proper dated nib and barrel combination. I grade this Parker Vacumatic Emerald Pearl in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
