Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1947 Parker Silver Pearl Single Jewel Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

Collector Alert: The barrel is near water clear and in near perfect condition. The Silver Pearl color is vibrant and in near-mint condition. The Nickel trim displays no wear.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plated Split Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Two-Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size (but known as a Junior due to the 2 Ring Cap Banding) that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow nickel plated clip and is in mint condition with absolutely no wear. The 2 ring cap banding is in excellent condition with no wear. The trim is bright white and in perfect condition. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel imprint is crisp and clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with a date code 7 (for 1947) in the 3rd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is near water clear, one can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow Medium Point NIB with a matching date code of 7 for 1947 that matches the barrel. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .53mm when measured with digital calipers and writes smoothly. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to medium line variation. The line/stroke measures between .46mm with light pressure and will flex to .97mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a near-perfect Silver Pearl color with the highlight on this pen being the water clear barrel. I grade this Parker Vac in Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
