Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1952 Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in the Navy Grey Color with gorgeous Lustraloy caps. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in great writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. Replaced the old glass-ply sac with a new, properly sized one. I have hand-cleaned the cap and arrow clip, clutch ring, 14K Parker nib, and the Aerometric sac protector. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen. This Parker 51 is full size and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 1/8" posted. The Pencil measures 5 1/2" inches in length. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. NOTE: The fountain pen material is made of acrylic while the pencil material is celluloid. This is why you can see visually the difference in color between fountain pen and pencil from Parker 51s.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The barrel of the fountain pen is not stamped but I can date this fountain pen based on the nib date code of 1952. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear/brassing. The cap is a Lustraloy type with no scratching, denting, or wear with a frosty Lustraloy finish on both caps. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" on the lip of the cap. I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 6 to 7 presses.

The Parker NIB is 14K and writes great with a fine line! The nib is dated with a 1952 date code. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .59mm when measured with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, the line measures between .49mm to .56mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This Parker 51 comes with a box and original. The box is in very good condition but has some very minor staining.

The Parker Aerometric Pencil is a twist-activated type. Turn the cap and the lead will propel outward. I have added a new eraser to this pencil.

This Parker 51 in Navy Grey is super clean and the restoration came out superb. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent+ to almost bordering on Near Mint Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or you can add it to your Parker 51 writing arsenal collection.
