For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 2010 S.T. DUPONT Shanghai President Limited Edition 112 of 1088 Fountain pen fitted with an 18K gold Medium Nib. The fountain pen has never seen ink and comes with the original S.T. Dupont literature, warranty card, ink cartridges, and black lacquered S.T. Dupont inner and outer boxes. I consider this S.T. Dupont Shanghai Limited Edition Fountain Pen in Never Inked, Mint, New Old Stock Condition.

During the 1920s, Shanghai emerged as one of the few ports in China that were accessible to the international community, evolving into a vibrant financial and artistic hub. The limited edition Shanghai by S.T. Dupont pays tribute to both the city of Shanghai and the works of European designers from the 1930s. This collection highlights the exceptional artistry of S.T. Dupont’s master lacquerers and goldsmiths. Additionally, the inclusion of gold dust enhances the luminosity of the pale gold and deep black lacquer.

The fountain pen is an oversized type that is referenced as a "President" and features motifs of traditional waves and stylized rain. As the Chinese consider the number 8 a sign of good luck, eight citrine gemstones have been set by hand into the clip. The Chinese seal of good fortune hallmarks the end of the barrel and is engraved on the fountain pen nib. 

The fountain pen features remarkable metalwork in gold with the brilliance of Chinese black lacquer. This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no dings, dents, enamel loss, repairs, or damage with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel via a friction fit. The clip is stamped with, "Made in France with the Limited Edition number "0112/1088". The top of the cap has the stylized "D" for DuPont. On the cap, opposite side of the clip, is engraved with, "S.T. DuPont Paris". There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel.

This S.T. Dupont Fountain Pen is the President size and measures 6 1/2" in length capped (the pen does not post). The diameter around the cap band measures 16.56mm and the pen weighs 3.05 ounces.

The fountain pen will use an ink converter or cartridges. This fountain pen comes with ink cartridges and an ink converter. I tested the ink converter with water and it works as designed.

The NIB is an 18K/750 type with a medium point. The actual fountain pen tipping/iridium measures .82mm when measured using digital calipers. I have not inked the pen and wanted to keep it that way for the next curator. These S.T. Dupont nibs are typically known for their incredibly smooth writing  - I am sure this one will not disappoint.

The fountain pen comes with the original boxes, warranty card, and S.T. DuPont literature. The packaging is in Mint condition with absolutely no wear - just like it left the factory!

S.T. Dupont Fountain Pens are some of the best writing instruments made in the world.  The Shanghai President Limited Edition demonstrates the precision craftsmanship S.T. Dupont is known for and created a work of art. I would grade this fountain pen in mint condition with it never being inked.
