For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1972 Sheaffer White Dot Imperial Fountain Pen in Sterling Silver Barley pattern. This fountain pen has been cleaned and polished and now is in wonderful writing condition again.
These writing instruments shown are known as Sheaffer Imperial Fountain Pen in the Barley finish - it is a modern fountain pen from circa 1972. The cap has the Sheaffer "White Dot" on the gold plated clip - there is a tiny nick out of the lower portion of the white dot. The barrel is in very good with no dents or repairs. This Sheaffer Fountain Pen has an ink converter filling unit and works as it was designed to, I tested with water and works perfectly.
This Sheaffer Imperial is known as a Model 826 and the design on the cap and barrel is known as the "Barley" pattern. The sterling has been polished and displays a brilliant "white" color. The cap banding is stamped with, "STERLING SILVER CROWN LOGO SHEAFFER U.S.A.".
The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no dings, dents, cracks, nicks, or repairs. The slip cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. This fountain pen measures 5 1/8" capped and 5 3/4" posted.
The nib is marked Sheaffer 14K U.S.A. The nib has a medium point measuring .73mm when using digital calipers. The NIB writes with an Medium to Broad/stroke. In the writing sample provided, this NIB stroke measures from .68mm to 1.20mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.
