Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Vintage Circa 1983 Parker Premier Fountain Pen in the 22K gold electroplate Grain d'Orges (or Fine Barley) pattern with 14K Gold Fine Nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

Note: This Premier series was introduced to the European market on September 12, 1983 at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo.  Made in the Parker Meru factory, this was to be the luxury version to the 75.  It was slightly longer and with a larger diameter, the Premier was designed to be a higher-end model.  It has an elegant look to it with its black, flat jeweled end tassies made out of onyx, and faceted rings that make it sparkle in the light. This Parker 75 Premier was manufactured from circa 1983 to 1991.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Hand polished the 22K Gold Electroplate Cap Clip, Cap Banding, Cap, and Barrel. I have cleaned the 14K Nib, Feed/Stem, and Section. This Parker 75 Premier has gold plate loss and is in incredibly great condition. This Parker 75 Premier is known as the Grain d'Orges or Fine Barley model made from 1983 to 1991 and measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no dings, dents, or repairs with the slip cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap sports a faceted cap band and has two black onyx jewels at the ends. The Cap Lip is stamped with, "PARKER FRANCE with Parker Hallmark/Logo". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This Parker 75 has an ink converter filling unit and I have tested with water and fills as it should. It is a Parker factory ink converter.

The NIB is fitted with an 14K Fine and marked with, "PARKER 585M FRANCE with the PP Arrow Hallmark". When measuring the actual tip of the 14K NIB it measures at .58mm when measuring with digital calipers. The back of the feed shows an "F" for FINE. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to medium line/stroke. The fine stroke measures at .58mm with light pressure and the medium line/stroke measures .63mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.

This Parker Premier Grain d'Orges Model Fountain Pen is an extremely gorgeous fountain pen that is also a great writer. I would consider this Parker 75 to grade in Excellent Condition and is deserving of a great collection. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
