Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1942 Parker Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

Collector Alert: The barrel is water clear and in near perfect condition. The Emerald Pearl color is vibrant and in near-mint condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Diamond Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (///\\\), and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold filled Blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no brassing. The chevron cap banding that is in excellent condition with no brassing. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is crisp and clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. - this barrel does not have a date code and never had one". The transparency of the barrel is water clear and how it looked the day it left the factory. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB with 1945 date code. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers and writes smoothly. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a medium to broad stroke. The medium line/stroke measures at .64mm with light pressure and the broad line/stroke measures 1.09mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen that displays a near-perfect Emerald Pearl color with the highlight on this pen being the water clear barrel. I grade this Parker Vac in Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
