Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1943 Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen in Blue Moire Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new, properly sized sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Eversharp Clip, Gold Filled Lever Bar, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. The cap and barrel display a Blue-black striped longitudinal celluloid pattern known as Moire. This Eversharp Skyline is a Standard size that measures 5 5/16" in length capped and 5 3/4" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has a secure derby with gold filled "EVERSHARP" clip which displays no wear. The section has a water-clear ink view window. The lever displays only a hint of wear on the edge near the center of the arm. All gold filled trim has been buffed and polished to shine brightly again. There is an interesting imprint on the barrel that reads, "U.M.W. OF A.L.U. NO. 4047". I have been unable to find any reference to this online.

The Eversharp Skyline Filling System is a lever filler that works great. I have tested with water and will fill as it was originally intended when manufactured. I added a new breather tube and properly sized sac and will operate for many years to come.

The Eversharp NIB is a 14K smooth writing nib. The actual iridium tip/writing portion of the 14K Eversharp NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures .44mm with very light pressure and will flex to 1.25mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. This Nib is a smooth writer. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This is an Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen that displays a stunning Art Deco design by Henry Dreyfuss that was produced from 1941 to 1948. I grade this Eversharp to easily be in Excellent to Excellent+ condition. The blue moire color is very vibrant and displays exceptionally well! It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
