Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Mint Condition, Never Inked Circa 1942 Parker Azure/Blue Pearl Celluloid Junior Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart and a new diaphragm added.

I have hand cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Gold Filled 2-Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. I polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a Junior in the major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold-filled clip and is in perfect condition with no brassing or wear. The 2-ring cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing or wear. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel retains the original "F" for "Fine" sticker on the barrel. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. - there is no date code". COLLECTOR ALERT: The transparency of the barrel is WATER CLEAR, just like it left the factory. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This is considered a 3rd generation Parker Vacumatic. We know this fountain pen was manufactured sometime between 1942 and 1948 because of the single jewel and plastic filler unit. The lack of date codes does not allow me to pinpoint the year and quarter only to the 1942 to 1948 time frame. The imprint is not worn and the date code was never stamped on the barrel. This may provide further insight...this pen was part of a Parker employee's collection purchased from Janesville. The individual may have been able to acquire the pen before the actual date code stamping.

The Vacumatic Filling System has been restored and now works great, typically in my tests with water about 9-12 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB - again with no date code. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .55mm when measured with digital calipers. I have not inked the pen as to keep it in Mint, New Old Stock Condition for the new collector.

This vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Azure/Blue Pearl color is in New Old Stock, Mint Condition. You rarely find these Vac in this condition with water clear barrel, no trim wear, stickered, and with vibrant Azure coloring. I grade this Parker Vac in Mint, Never Inked, New Old Stock Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
