Fitted with a 23K/950 Two-Tone Medium Palladium Dreamtouch nib, this remarkable writing instrument remains in New Old Stock, Mint, and Never Inked condition. It comes complete with its original Visconti presentation box, literature, and warranty card.
In 2010, Visconti released the 753 Roma Domus Aurea to honor the city of Rome and its legendary origins. This limited edition pays tribute to the Domus Aurea—the magnificent palace built for Emperor Nero following the great fire of 64 A.D.—and evokes the grandeur of ancient Roman architecture and art.
Just 80 fountain pens were produced worldwide, making this an extremely limited and collectible edition. The first four pens were gifted to notable Roman figures, including Pope Benedict XVI, Mayor Gianni Alemanno, actress Sabrina Ferilli, and comic actor Gigi Proietti—underscoring its cultural and historical significance.
Crafted from vintage ivorine celluloid, the pen features intricately hand-engraved motifs that echo the frescoes adorning the walls of the Domus Aurea. The warm ivory tones are complemented by rose gold-plated trim, which includes a broad cap band engraved with "DOMUS AUREA 753". The symbolic 753 refers to the traditional founding year of Rome, anchoring this piece deeply in its heritage.
The cap is engraved with its limited edition number "22/88" and is crowned with Visconti’s iconic arched bridge clip, finely engraved on both flanks. All components are in pristine condition—free of nicks, cracks, scratches, or wear. The cap threads smoothly and securely onto the barrel.
This fountain pen is equipped with Visconti’s patented Double Reservoir Power Filler—a high-capacity vacuum plunger system that includes a double chamber for ink isolation. Ideal for travel and long writing sessions, the system has been water-tested and performs flawlessly.
The pen features a 23K palladium Dreamtouch nib in a two-tone finish, stamped “23K Pd 950 FIRENZ” with the Visconti branding. It writes with a Medium point, measuring approximately .84mm when measured with digital calipers. Though never inked, Dreamtouch nibs are known for their soft, responsive, and effortless performance on the page.
Substantial in hand, the pen measures approximately 5 5/8" capped, extends to 6 3/4" posted, and weighs 1.40 ounces, offering a luxurious and commanding writing experience.
