I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Coin Stack Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the Fountain Pen & Pencil. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Major Model that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled Clip with no brassing. The cap band has a cartouche and coin stacked design which has displays a wonderful shine with no brassing. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 3, for 1943, in the second quarter". The transparency of the barrel is fantastic being water clear. The blind cap securely fits. There are no personalizations or monograms to either the barrel or cap.
I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 6 presses and it will fill full. This filling unit operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
The 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .50mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes smoothly with a fine to a broad stroke line. The writing sample provided, the thinnest line measures at .52mm and the broad line measures at 1.11mm when measuring with digital calipers with medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
The pencil is in fantastic condition in its own right. The banding, clip, and point display no brassing. It is operational and works as it should.
The Parker Box is a Model #243. I would consider the box to be in fine condition with no tears or major ink stains.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a Gorgeous Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen Set in the Azure Pearl Celluloid that is in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. The coloring is gorgeous and hard to find transparency on a Parker that would beat the one displayed here. It is collector worthy being ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
