For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1927 Conklin Sub Endura Oversize Medium Green Hard Rubber Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB and feed. I hand cleaned the outside and inside of the cap and barrel with mineral oil. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new, properly sized #21 rubber sac. Hand polished the Conklin Gold Filled Clip, Double Ring Cap Banding, and 14K Conklin Toledo NIB. I cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the medium green hard rubber. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel to this Conklin. This Conklin is a Senior size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 7/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The green hard rubber color on this pen is excellent. The cap has the Gold Filled Conklin PAT May 28, 1918, Clip with the Two Ring Gold Filled Cap Banding. The clip and cap banding show just a hint of brassing at the end of the clip - very minor and extremely below average considering the age of this pen. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Trade CONKLIN Mark TOLEDO OHIO U.S.A.". The lever filler is stamped with, "PATENT NOV 17, 1925 with the CRESCENT logo". I have tested the filling mechanism with water and the filling system works great and operates as it was intended to.

This Conklin has a huge 14K Conklin Nib. The actual iridium tip on this Nib has a medium point measuring roughly .73mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this Nib, it writes with a fine to a double broad stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .53mm and will flex to a double broad stroke measuring at 1.22mm with normal to medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample also used Parker Quink Blue Ink by dipping the NIB in ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is one of those vintage Conklin Sub Endura Oversized Fountain Pens you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection. The color is scarce and should be a deserving collection. I would grade it in excellent condition and is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
