1930s ONOTO DE LA RUE MODEL 1332 XF-BB SEMI-FLEX NIB FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

$220.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Lovely Restored Circa 1930s Onoto De La Rue Fountain Pen in Jet Black Smooth Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new rubber sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, 2-Ring Cap Banding and 14C NIB. I also cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Gold Filled Clip with the De La Rue "Sunburst" logo stamped into a highly polished gold filled clip with no brassing. The Lever and Cap Banding displays no gold fill loss and are both polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "The De La Rue Pen Made in Great Britain" at the center of the barrel. At the end of the barrel, it is clearly stamped with model number, "1332 and 6.5". The butt-end of the barrel there is an, "M" or "W" stamped. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Onoto/De La Rue Fountain Pen measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 6 1/4" posted.

I have tested the lever filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lever Filling System works excellent, as it was originally intended to.

This Onoto/De La Rue has a 14C Nib that writes smoothly with an extra fine to double broad stroke line. The actual writing portion, the iridium, of the 14C NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .47mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with an extra fine stroke/line measuring at .43mm on the horizontal strokes and will flex up to a double broad stroke of 1.31mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Sleek Black Fountain Pen from Onoto/De La Rue that I would grade in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. This fine writing instrument is ready to write with or just add to writing arsenal collection.
