1934 PARKER BURGUNDY PEARL DOUBLE JEWEL VACUMATIC STANDARD SIZE FOUNTAIN PEN IN RESTORED CONDITION

$275.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1934 First Generation Parker Double Jewel Burgundy Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Standard Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, 14K 2-Tone U.S.A. Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. The gold filled trim displays "No Brassing". I have cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Standard Size which measures 5 1/8" capped and 6 1/4" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow gold filled clip with the 3-Ring Cap Banding with no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are striped to match the cap and barrel and polished to a glorious shine. The section is also striped to match the pen's cap, barrel, and jewels. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. PAT. with date code 4, for 1934, in the 4th quarter". There are no monograms or personalization to either the cap or barrel. The transparency of the barrel is excellent and a person can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits.

This Parker 1st Generation has the correct lock-down filling unit. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lockdown Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit, so it operates smoothly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold 2-Tone U.S.A. Parker Split Arrow NIB, which has a smooth writing experience. The platinum coating on the NIB is starting to wear and being a purist of these NIBs, I didn't want to polish the platinum coating completely away, which does not affect the writing of this NIB. If the individual that purchases this pen would like me to polish the platinum coating away I would do this - just let me know. The actual writing portion of the this 14K U.S.A. Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .72mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a firm fine to medium stroke. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .51mm and medium line measures at .63mm when measures with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid that has all the "high-line" features; 3-Ring Cap Banding, 2-Tone NIB, Striped Section, Striped top and bottom Jewels with excellent transparency. I would consider this Parker to fall in the Excellent Condition range - certainly collector grade. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap. There is also some glare from the lighting on the body of the cap and barrel.
