1935 PARKER BURGUNDY PEARL DOUBLE JEWEL VACUMATIC OVERSIZE FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

$795.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1935 OVERSIZED 1st Generation Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Burgundy Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. The Largest pen from the 1st Generation, the Oversize has maximum dimensions similar to the later Senior Maxima, but it's chunkier contour renders it of larger look and feel. The Oversize gripping section is larger than the Senior Maxima.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Plated Split Arrow Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, 14K PARKER USA Nib, and Bottom Tassel. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the Barrel, Cap, and Blind Cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is an Oversize model which measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/4" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip that displays minimal wear on the arrow tip of the clip. The 3-Ring Cap Banding displays no wear and has a fabulous gold filled color. The top and bottle jewels are black with both being polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped lightly with, " GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA with date code 5 (for 1935) in the 3rd quarter ". The transparency on the barrel very good with one easily being able to see through it, albeit with mild to medium ambering.

The filling unit on this Parker is known as a "lockdown" filler. It is the proper filling unit for Parker 1st Generation Fountain Pens that were produced from 1932 to 1937. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lockdown Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12 to 14 presses to nearly full. I have greased the filling unit, so it operates smoothly.

This Oversize Parker Vacumatic has a 14K Parker U.S.A. Nib that is a factory replacement. This 14K Parker NIB provides a smooth writing experience. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .82mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium to a broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .62mm and the broad line measures at .95mm under medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is one of those vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pens you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid and 1st Generation Oversize. This Parker Oversize is a great writer that I would consider to be in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. This Oversize Parker Vac is restored and is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection!
