Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1935 Parker Emerald Green Mottled Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Two Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of this fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Gold Filled Clip and the double cap bands that display a wonderful gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped crisp and clearly with, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA PATD with Dated code 5 (for 1935) in the 1st Quarter". The barrel transparency is amazing, I would consider it to be water clear. The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There is a small monogram to the barrel that has the initials, "J.P." (see image). This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is the larger, more girthy Junior Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors. It measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 13/16" posted. I have to reiterate the clarity of the barrel again, I have personally only seen very few water clear barrel and I would consider this one of the finest I have ever had in my collection

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 10-13 pumps to fill full. This Vacumatic has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacumatics. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works as originally intended to.

The 14K U.S.A. Parker Split Arrow NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .74mm when measured with digital calipers. This NIB writes super smoothly - it glides across the paper. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a medium to a broad line and, again, very smoothly. The writing sample provided in the image has medium stroke measuring .65mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly .96mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Emerald Green Mottled Celluloid and would grade it in Excellent Condition. The Waterclear Transparency of the barrel is seldom seen in this type of condition. This is collector worthy and the condition stands behind this gorgeous Parker. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
