For your consideration we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored 1938 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Golden Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

The NIB, Feed, Section and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\\) Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Golden Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant Golden Peal color. The cap has the Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 8 (for 1938) in the 3rd Quarter". The barrel transparency is fantastic, a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.

This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-15 presses to fill roughly 7/8 full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

This Parker Vacumatic 2-Tone NIB is 14K Gold with a medium point that measures .60mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with an extra fine to broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .40mm to 1.01mm with firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The nib on the Maxima writes very smooth, such a pleasure to write with. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Parker Golden Pearl Senior Maxima Fountain Pen doesn't get much better, this Parker Vac Maxima - the celluloid is vibrant and looks incredible, has the striped jewels, and the barrel has excellent transparency. I would consider this Maxima to be easily in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
