For your consideration we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1938 Parker Jet Black Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Long Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. I have polished this Parker Vac to a high shine, it looks marvelous.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Parker USA NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a Long Major Size which measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

The fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This fountain pen barrel is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Arrow gold filled clip with very minor brassing. The Cap Banding is in excellent condition with a rich gold filled color with no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are black, they have been polished and now shine and looks great. The barrel is clearly, albeit light in some areas, and stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 8 in the first quarter". The transparency of the barrel is excellent, an individual can see through the barrel, albeit with light to mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits and the gold filled tassel is polished to bright shine.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-9 presses to fill it full. The filling unit is a Speedline Filler, which is appropriate for this Second Generation Vacumatic. The unit has been greased and now operates flawlessly and smoothly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold split arrow NIB. This NIB is semi-flexible, the iridium is great and creates smooth writing experience. The 14K Parker NIB has a fine/medium point measuring roughly .58mm, measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to a broad stroke line. The writing sample provided, the thinnest / fine line measures at .47mm and the broad line measured with digital calipers is 1.12mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Classy Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Jet Black Celluloid that I would consider to grade in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
