Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Gorgeous Restored 1939 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Silver Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

The NIB, Feed, Section and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plated Split Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap (///\\\) Banding, 14K Parker 2-tone NIB, and bottom tassel. I have Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Silver Pearl color is simply beautiful with vibrant coloring. The cap has the Split Arrow Nickel Plated Clip with the Wide Chevron Cap Banding displaying no significant wear and polished to shine brightly. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 9 (for 1939) in the First Quarter". The barrel transparency is near water clear and can easily be seen through. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.

This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-15 presses to fill nearly full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

This Parker Vacumatic has a near perfect 2-tone 14K NIB that is number matching to the rest of the pen, 1939 with a Q1 date code. The nib has a medium point that measures .65mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to broad line. In the writing sample provided, the stroke/line ranges from .54mm on the horizontal strokes to 1.00mm with firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The nib on the Maxima writes very smoothly. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Parker Silver Pearl Senior Maxima Fountain Pen is in excellent condition - the celluloid is vibrant, has the striped jewels, the 2-Tone Nib is near perfect, and the barrel has excellent water clear transparency. I would consider this Maxima to be grade in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
