1942 PARKER BLUE GRAY DUOFOLD FOUNTAIN PEN STANDARD SIZE RESTORED

$175.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1942 Parker Duofold Blue Gray Celluloid Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, Smooth Cap Banding and 14K Gold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Gold Filled displays no brassing. The Gold Filled Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color, also with no brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 2, for 1942, in the 3rd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is excellent as one can easily see through it, albeit with minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Standard Size Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 1/4" in length capped and 6" posted.

The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 6 to 8 presses and it will fill full. This Vacu-Fill unit is in excellent condition; it operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

This Duofold has a 14K NIB. The actual writing portion/ iridium of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .47mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, the NIB writes with a medium to broad stroke line. The writing sample provided in the image has a medium stroke measuring at .65mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.01mm with medium to firm pressure, I did not want to overextend the NIBs capabilities. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a fabulous vintage Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Blue-Gray Celluloid that would grade in the Excellent Condition. This writing instrument is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
