Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1943 Parker Azure Pearl Celluloid Major Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I have hand-polished the gold-filled Blue Diamond clip, gold-filled Chevron cap banding (///\\\), and 14K Parker Vac nib. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond gold-filled clip in excellent condition with no gold fill loss. The cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing/wear displayed. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC with the MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 3 (for 1943) in the 3rd Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is good as one can see through the barrel but has medium ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This 3rd Generation Parker Vacumatic has the correct plastic filling unit typical of this production. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly. The Vacumatic Filling System works very well, in my tests with water about 10-12 presses to fill full.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow type with a date code match to the barrel - 3 for 1943. The iridium point of the 14K Parker nib has a fine point measuring roughly .50mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to broad line/stroke. The fine stroke measures at .56mm with light pressure and the broad line/stroke measures .92mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink. The nib on this Vac writes wonderfully with a smooth semi-wet line.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is in Excellent Condition and is certainly collector-worthy. It is ready to write with or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
