Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1943 Parker Duofold Senior Blue Gray Celluloid Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Gold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with just a hint of brassing on the edge near the Blue Diamond area, really only seen with magnification. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 3, for 1943, in the 1st quarter". The transparency of the barrel is very good as one can easily see through it, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses and it will fill full. This Vacu-Fill unit is in excellent condition; it operates smoothly and works flawlessly.

This Duofold has the correctly dated 1943 14K NIB in the scarce "V" Chevron Motif. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, the NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke line. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke measuring at .56mm and can flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.27mm with medium to firm pressure, I did not want to overextend the NIBs capabilities. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a fabulous vintage Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Blue-Gray Celluloid that would grade in the Excellent Condition. This writing instrument is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
