Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1946 Parker Silver Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plate Blue Diamond Clip, Nickel Plated Chevron Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow nickel plated blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no brassing. The chevron cap banding also displays no brassing displaying bright white trim. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 6, for 1946, in the second quarter". The transparency of the barrel excellent - it is water-clear. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-9 presses to fill nearly full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold split arrow NIB and also a 1946 dated nib which would make this a marriage between the barrel and nib. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .76mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke. The writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .53mm with digital calipers under normal pressure and the double broad stroke measures 1.51mm under medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displays a vibrant Silver Pearl color and the barrel transparency is fantastic. I grade this Parker Vac in Near Mint Condition and is in ready to write condition or just add to writing arsenal collection. If you are looking for a near perfect Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen this is it - it will be hard to find a Silver Pearl Vac in this type of condition without it being new old stock.
