1947 PARKER 51 DOUBLE JEWEL NASSAU GREEN FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

$900.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1947 Parker 51 Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Nassau Green Color with 1/10 16K Gold Filled Cap. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, barrel, and NIB. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the 1/10 16K Gold Filled Cap & Gold Filled Arrow Blue Diamond Clip, Clutch Ring, Blind Cap Tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, blind cap, and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the plastic This Parker 51 measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The fountain pen cap, barrel, blind cap, and hood are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap is clearly stamped with, "1/10 16K GOLD FILLED MADE IN U.S.A.". The cap is in excellent condition with no dents or dings. The Blind Cap and Cap have the plastic pearlized jewels that have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped on two lines, "PARKER 51 MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 7, for 1947, in the fourth quarter". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or the barrel.

I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 7 to 10 presses. The filling unit operates as it was originally intended to and smoothly.

The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .75mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .61mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a scarce color, Nassau Green, to add to one's collection. I would consider this Parker to grade in Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
