For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1948 Parker 51 Vacumatic Demonstrator Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and is now again in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new one. Hand cleaned the Cap & Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the plastic. This Parker 51 is Fullsize and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear/brassing. The cap is a Lustraloy type with no denting. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" just above the lip of the cap. The barrel is stamped, "PARKER MADE IN USA with date code 8 (for 1948) in the 1st Quarter".

I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 8 to 12  presses.

The Parker NIB is 14K and is properly dated 1948 making the nib a marriage to the rest of the fountain pen writes. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium line ranging from .72mm to .79mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This Parker 51 Demo Fountain Pen is uncommon to it being a Parker factory-made fountain pen - there is a bunch of "fantasy" Parker 51s out there. I would consider this Parker to be in Very Fine Condition. Certainly well worth the addition to one's writing arsenal collection that is ready to write with.
