For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1949 Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pen in the Navy Grey Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and is now again in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, and barrel. Replaced the old glass ply sac with a new, properly sized one. Hand cleaned the Cap & Arrow Clip, Clutch Ring, and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker 51 is Full Size and measures 5 3/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has no dings or denting. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear. The cap is the Polished Chrome type that are typically found on Parker 51 Specials. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER" just above the lip of the cap. The barrel is stamped lightly, "Made in U.S.A. 9 date for 1949 in the 2nd Quarter".

This Parker 51 has the Aerometric Filling System that has been rebuilt. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 4-6 presses. The stainless sheath sac protector displays some blemishes which are only cosmetic.

The Parker NIB is a 14K fine and writes smoothly! The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures .58mm on the down and upward strokes and .53mm on the horizontal strokes when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This Parker 51 in Navy Grey is gorgeous and the restoration came out wonderfully. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent+ Condition - it is a very clean example. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
