For your consideration we are offering for sale this circa 1950s Sheaffer Statesman Snorkel White Dot Fountain Pen with Triumph palladium-silver alloy nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

Ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed and section. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new, properly size, #14 silicone sac. Replaced the O-ring, Point Holder, Hand polished the Gold Filled Cap Clip and Band, Barrel, Cap along with the with the Sheaffer M4 Triumph palladium-silver alloy NIB.

This fountain pen is in the mandarin orange color. The barrel imprint is very crisp that reads, "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co., Fort Madison, Iowa, Made in U.S.A.".

The threads on the cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly. There are no monograms to the barrel or cap band. There are no cracks, nicks or repairs to the barrel or cap. This Sheaffer measures 5 1/2" in length capped and roughly 6 1/2" posted. When measuring the actual tip of the Triumph palladium-silver alloy nib NIB, it measures at .83mm with digital calipers.

The Touchdown filling system has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned / restored, put back together and added a dab of pure silicone to the Touchdown filling system for ease and smooth operational use. The filling system now has perfect suction and works flawlessly and smoothly.

When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a medium line measuring roughly .87mm. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills wonderfully. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is an excellent, antique Sheaffer Snorkel Fountain Pen in a rare color variant, mandarin orange that is in ready to write condition or to add to your snorkel fountain pen collection.
