The 14K Diamond Shaped Inlaid Sheaffer Nib has a Medium point measuring roughly .66mm when measuring with digital calipers. The NIB writes with a fine to medium line/stroke. In the writing sample provided, this NIB stroke measures from .58mm to .88mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. This nib does write very smooth. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.
This Sheaffer 790 Imperial Fountain Pens are becoming more and more collectible. Collectors love the Inlaid style nibs and these pens are steady workhorses for writing long periods. I would consider this Fountain Pen to be in Excellent Condition. This Sheaffer 790 Imperial Fountain pen is in ready-to-write condition or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
