Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this First Year 2004 Parker 100 Diamond Blue with Gold Trim Fountain Pen fitted with an 18K Medium nib. This Parker 100 comes in the original Parker box, Parker Literature, and one ink cartridge. This fountain pen is in Mint condition but I inked it to test out the super smooth 18K medium nib.

The barrel and cap are gorgeous with 14K gold-plated trim. There are no nicks, chips, cracks, finish removal, dings, dents, or repairs. All of the trim shines brightly with no wear of the gold finish. The cap lip is stamped with, PARKER, the Parker logo, date code I.III. (for 2004 in Q1 - Which makes this Parker 100 a First Year), and France". The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" inches capped and 5 7/8" inches posted.

The Parker 18K Solid Gold Nib is marked "M" on the section when the section is removed from the barrel. The nib is in fantastic condition and the iridium measures roughly .73mm, or a medium point when measured with digital calipers. The nib writes with an ultra-smooth medium line ranging from .68mm to .72mm when measuring with digital calipers. The pen was dipped with Parker Blue-Black ink to perform the writing sample shown in the images. The actual pen was used to perform the writing sample.

This fountain pen uses an ink converter and accompanies this fountain pen. It is a Parker-branded ink converter. It will also accept Parker ink cartridges.

The factory box is in excellent condition with no ink stains or damage.

The Parker "100" was undoubtedly a descendant of the Parker '51.' Designed by Geoff Hollington, who also worked on the Insignia and the Sonnet, it borrowed the overall design from the Parker "51" while incorporating distinct and very appealing features. The Diamond Blue color was phased out in 2006, and the Parker "100" was discontinued in late 2007. It has gained popularity among collectors, perhaps due to its connection with the classic Parker '51."

This is a fabulous Parker 100 in the Diamond Blue color that really makes a statement. The 100 in the Diamond Blue color was only made from 2004 to 2006 - which makes it an instant collectible writing instrument and this is a first-year / first-quarter example which will be very collectible years down the road. This fountain pen is in Mint Condition. It is ready to write with or add to your writing arsenal collection.
