For your consideration, we are offering for sale this New Old Stock Circa 1929 Waterman #52 Red Ripple Hard Rubber Fountain Pen. This fountain pen is still stickered and has never been inked. A true survivor that is rare to find today!

This fountain pen was part of a purchase from an old Stationary Store in Cincinnati, Ohio where I acquired nearly 200 New Old Stock Vintage Fountain Pens - this is just one of them. Finding any pen that is stickered, let alone one that is in the desired color like this one, is a scarce and uncommon find.

This fountain pen is made from hard rubber in the Red Ripple pattern that displays gorgeous vibrant red and black coloring. This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing to the barrel. The 18K Gold Filled cap clip and banding are in perfect condition with no gold fill loss. The lever box assembly is also in perfect condition, again, with no gold fill loss. The barrel has a crisp imprint that reads, "WATERMAN'S REG U.S. IDEAL GLOBE PAT. OFF. FOUNTAIN PEN RIPPLE". The butt end of the fountain pen has the original sticker that reads, "01852 Fine $4.00". There are no monograms or personalization to either the cap or barrel. This Waterman #52 measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 5/8" posted.

There was no original sac in this pen when I took it apart. What I did was add a properly sized silicone sac to this pen. The lever and box assembly has been cleaned and oiled. I have tested the lever filling systems with water and works flawlessly and as it was originally intended to.

This Waterman has a 14K #2 WATERMAN IDEAL Nib. The iridium tipping is in excellent condition with the point measuring .46mm when measured with digital calipers - a fine nib point. The Nib does have flex and measures the flex when dry writing with water with a range of .48mm to 1.67mm when measuring with digital calipers. I have not inked this Nib - I wanted to keep this Fountain Pen in New Old Stock, Mint Condition for the new collector that acquires this one.

This antique Waterman #52 Red Ripple Hard Rubber Fountain Pen is not an easy example to find in this condition. I would consider the condition of this fountain pen to grade in Mint condition. This is a Waterman Collector's dream pen. This Waterman #52 Red Ripple Fountain Pen is in ready to write condition (should you choose to) or add it to your writing arsenal collection.
