For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Gorgeous Circa 1932 Mabie-Todd Swallow Self Filling Fountain Pen in the Gorgeous Coral Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

The threads on the cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly. I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Hand cleaned the inside of the barrel and cap. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new sac to preserve the coral celluloid for as long as it can. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, Gold Filled Trim on Cap, Lever, and Swan #1 - 14Ct NIB. There is no wear or brassing to the clip. The cap banding displays some extremely light wear. The lever is super clean with just a hint of wear on the edge of the lever end. All of the Gold Filled trim has been polished to a high shine. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the cap and barrel to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of this fountain pen. There are no monograms or personalizations on the barrel or cap. There are no cracks or repairs to the celluloid. This Mabie-Todd Swallow measures 4 3/8" in length capped and 5 5/8" posted.

This fountain pen is made from celluloid in the red with an orange swirl pattern commonly known as coral. The coloring is vibrant and gorgeous to no staining or dark areas. The barrel has a clean imprint at the center of the barrel that reads, "SWALLOW MABIE TODD & CO PAT. MAY 21. 18. PAT.".

The lever assembly has been cleaned, polished, and oiled. It works flawlessly and smoothly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills wonderfully - just like it should.

This pen has a Swan #1 Flexible STUB 14K NIB. When measuring the actual tip of the NIB, it measures at .84mm with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample the NIB writes with a fine line, on the horizontal strokes, measuring roughly .54mm, and flexes up to a triple broad stroke of 2.09mm when measuring with digital calipers using medium to firm pressure. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Swallow Fountain Pen is in spectacular condition - these pens in Coral are absolutely stunning and difficult to acquire in clean condition, like this one. This Coral Celluloid really makes a statement plus with the extremely flexible Stub nib, it doesn't get much better than this. I would consider this Swan to be in Excellent+ Condition. It is ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
