For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1990 Pelikan Toledo, M760 Limited Edition Jubilee 150th Anniversary Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has never been inked, comes in the original box with a Limited Edition certificate, and is the very rare early version. I consider this Pelikan in New Old Stock, Never Inked, and in Mint Condition.
NOTE: Pelikan created the M760 Fountain Pen as part of the 150th Anniversary of the company. They were made from 1988 to 1995. The W.-Germany imprint was in use until 1990 so we know this pen was manufactured sometime between 1988 to 1990. The pen was known as the "Jubilee" for Pelikan's 150th Anniversary. The first models in the Jubilee had the cap engraved indicating the Jubilee (1838-1988), later this engraving was omitted. This is how you can tell if you have the rare version or the more common Jubilee model. Since this one has 1838-1988 stamped on the cap banding, it is the rare version that pen collectors look for.
The barrel and cap are gorgeous with a beautiful barleycorn gold-plated cap, and barrel with gold-plated trim. There are no nicks, chips, cracks, dings, dents, or repairs to this fountain pen. The cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has a clear, transparent green ink window. The cap banding is stamped with, "Pelikan W.-Germany 1838-1988". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Pelikan M760 was manufactured in West Germany circa 1989/1990 and has the two chick cap logo on top of the cap with the 2-tone 18C nib. This Pelikan M760 measures 5" inches in length capped and 5 7/8" inches posted.
This Pelikan M760 is Limited Edition Number 039629 which is stamped on the bottom of the barrel sleeve near the turning knob (see image #8). The Pelikan M760 Certificate, which comes with the pen, shows this as well.
The Piston Filler has a dab of grease that allows it to turn smoothly and take in ink. The piston filler works flawlessly and operates smoothly in my tests with water.
The NIB is an 18C - 750 2-tone type with a medium point. The actual fountain pen tipping measures .67mm when measured using digital calipers. This Pelikan M760 has never been inked nor was it ever dipped in ink. I wanted to leave the pen in New Old Stock / Never Inked condition for the next steward of this remarkable writing instrument.
The Pelikan M760 comes in the original velvet box that is in excellent condition both on the inside and outside - no rips/tears to the exterior or interior of the box.
This Pelikan M760 Jubilee 150th Anniversary Fountain Pen is a quite rare fountain pen due to its early production with the 1838-1988 imprint on the cap banding. This Pelikan M760 Jubilee has never been used or inked and is in New Old Stock/Mint condition. This Pelikan is a spectacular example that rarely comes along for collectors to purchase.
