I have tested the piston filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Piston Filling System works as it was intended and effortlessly.
The Montblanc NIB is a 18K/750 Bi-Color NIB. The 18K Montblanc NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .83mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image has the medium stroke measuring at .61mm with real light pressures and the double broad stroke measures roughly 1.25mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. This NIB writes smoothly and is such a pleasure to write with. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.
This is a wonderful example of this iconic Montblanc No. 149 Fountain Pen. It is in impeccable condition and I would grade this fine writing instrument in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
