For your consideration we are offering for sale this early Circa 1915 Waterman #12 Red Mottled Hard Rubber Eyedropper Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

Ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed and section. Hand cleaned the inside of the barrel and cap with mineral oil. Polished and buffed the outside of the barrel and red & black colors really display wonderful coloring.

This fountain pen is made from red mottled hard rubber. The barrel has good, not great, imprints at the center that reads, "WATERMAN'S FOUNTAIN PEN N.Y. PAT'D MAY 23, 1899 & AUG 3, 1904 U.S.A". The butt end of the fountain pen has a very crisp 12 imprint. The cap is a slip type cap always securing tightly. There are no monograms on the barrel. There are no cracks, nicks or repairs to the hard rubber. This Waterman #12 measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 3/4" posted.

The NIB is an awesome flexible Waterman 14K New York IDEAL #2. The actual tip of the Waterman 14K NIB measures .61mm with digital calipers. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with an extra fine line measuring .43mm, the horizontal stroke, with very light pressure and flexes up to 2.69mm with light to normal pressure. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is an excellent example of an antique Waterman #12 Mottled Ink Dropper Fountain Pen in a Mottled Red & Black Hard Rubber pattern. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
