I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized Silicone sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Parker Clip, Cap Banding, and 14K Duofold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, blind cap and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the Celluloid. This Parker Duofold is the Junior Size and measures 4 5/8" capped and 5 7/8" posted.
The fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Cap has a Gold Filled Parker Clip with PAT SEPT 5 - 16 stamped and has been polished to shine bright and displays no brassing. The cap banding displays rich gold filled color with no brassing. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN USA with date code 1927 in the 4th Quarter". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The color of this Parker is exceptional - it is very difficult to find examples in the Jade Celluloid that are this clean.
This Duofold has a button filling mechanism and I have tested with water and fills as it should. Works fantastic and as designed to.
The Parker Duofold NIB is 14K and writes fairly smooth and lays down a wet line. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium to double broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .72mm and the double broad line measures at 1.24mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is an Iconic vintage Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Jr size. It is a scarce Duofold due to the condition of the Jade celluloid material. I would consider this Parker to grade in Excellent Condition. Hard pressed to find another in this type of condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
