CIRCA 1927 DUOFOLD SENIOR MANDARIN YELLOW FOUNTAIN PEN F TO B NIB RESTORED

$825.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1927 Parker Senior Duofold Fountain Pen in Mandarin/Yellow Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized Silicone sac. I have hand polished the Gold Filled Parker Clip, Cap Banding, and 14K Parker Duofold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, blind cap and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This Parker Duofold is the Senior Size and measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/2" posted.

The fountain pen barrel and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has a stress hairline in the lip of the that is not a full blown crack and is stable (see image #8) and nearly invisible to the naked eye but point it out for clarity sake. The Cap has a Gold Filled Parker Clip with PAT SEPT 5 - 16 stamped and has been polished to shine brightly with no brassing. The cap banding has been polished and displays a gold filled color however there is some wear. The barrel is crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER DUOFOLD FOUNTAIN PEN JANESVILLE, WIS LUCKY CURVE U.S.A. PAT 4-25-11". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The barrel and cap have excellent overall color matching.

This Senior Duofold is a Button Filler and has been tested with water and fills as it should. The filling unit operates as it was originally intended.

The Parker NIB is 14K with a PARKER DUOFOLD PEN imprint. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .52mm with light pressure and the broad line measures at .98mm with firm pressure when I measured with digital calipers. The nib writes extremely smooth. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is an Iconic vintage Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Senior size and is a gorgeous example from Parker in the hard to find Mandarin celluloid. I would consider this Parker grade in Fine to Very Fine Condition (it would be excellent if there was no stress crack in the cap lip). This Parker Sr. Duofold is in ready to write condition or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
