I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old sac with a new sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Parker Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, and 14K Duofold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, blind cap and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the Celluloid. This Parker Duofold is the Juniorette Size and measures 4 1/2" capped and 5 5/8" posted.
The fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Cap has a Gold Filled Parker stamped on the clip and has been polished to shine bright and displays no wear. The Juniorette has a Ringtop Clip Lock, I have seen these Juniorettes to have these on occasion but I do not typically see them in the Parker catalogs for the 1930s so it may have been a customer request. The cap banding displays rich gold filled color, again, with no wear. The barrel is stamped clearly with, "GEO. S. PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. PATENTED". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The red/orange color is vibrant and displays wonderfully.
This Duofold has a button filling mechanism and I have tested with water and fills as it should. Works as it is designed to.
The Parker Duofold has a replacement Arrow NIB that is 14K and writes with a smooth medium stroke. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .74mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures between .61mm to .77mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This vintage Parker Red/Orange Streamline Duofold Fountain Pen is exceptional in the condition and color. I would consider this Parker to grade in Excellent Condition. It is certainly collector grade and writes wonderfully. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
