Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1938 Pelikan 100 N Lizard Pattern Celluloid Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB and feed. Hand cleaned the section, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old cork with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plate trim and 14K/585 NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Pelikan 100N Lizard pattern has some fabulous color and the design looks fantastic.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition showing no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always secure tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Nickel Plate Clip that display only the slightest wear at the lower portion of the clip and only point this out for clarity sake as to the naked eye it is hard to see. The Nickel Plate Cap Banding displays no brassing. The top of the cap displays the Pelikan logo. The transparent green visualated lower barrel is clear with the transparency perfect - a person can easily see through the barrel. The piston filler blind cap securely fits. This Pelikan 100N size measures 4 3/4" in length capped and 6 1/4" posted.

This Pelikan has a piston filling system. The piston filler has new cork, been cleaned, greased to work as it was originally intended to. The piston filler works flawless and operates smoothly.

The Pelikan NIB is a 585/14K NIB. The Pelikan NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .57mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image ranges from a fine stroke that measures .49mm to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.30mm with normal pressure when I measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This generation Pelikan Fountain Pen is extremely scarce in the Lizard pattern and are increasingly difficult to find which makes this an excellent collector variant to add to one's writing arsenal collection. I would grade this Pelikan 100N in Near Mint Condition. Certainly, if you are a Pelikan collector this is one of those "holy grail" type pens you will want for your collection.
