CIRCA 1951 MONTBLANC 3-44G FOUNTAIN PEN 14C FLEXIBLE NIB F-BBB RESTORED

$295.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored Circa 1951 Montblanc 3-44G Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB and feed. Hand cleaned the cap and barrel. Hand polished the Gold Filled trim and 14C Montblanc Flexible NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Montblanc 3-44G has a blue visualated barrel with perfect transparency.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition showing no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always secures tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Gold Filled Clip that displays no brassing. The Gold Filled cap banding displays no brassing either. The top of the cap has the snowcap. The piston filler blind cap securely fits, turns open, and closes with ease. The cap is stamped with, "MONTBLANC and Mountain Logo". The blind cap is also stamped with, "3-44G". There are no personalizations or monograms to either the cap or barrel. This Montblanc 3-44G size measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This Montblanc has a piston filling system. The piston filler has been cleaned and greased to work as it was originally intended to. I have tested the piston filler with water and works flawless and operates smoothly.

The Montblanc NIB is a 14C Flexible NIB. The NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .66mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image ranges from a fine line that measures .51mm on the horizontal strokes to a triple broad line of roughly 1.88mm with medium to firm pressure when I measured with digital calipers. The Nib is very responsive, "springy", and writes smoothly. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Montblanc 3-44G model is famous for its reliability, perfection in simplicity, both in design and functionality and most importantly famous for its performance, there is nothing that can go wrong with it and it is a very reliable writer. The pen has the perfect form factor, superb balance, handling and feel, easy to use yet powerful and reliable writing instrument. I would grade this Montblanc 3-44G to be easily in Excellent Condition. Certainly, if you are a Montblanc collector this is one of those types of pens you will want for your collection that is amazing to write with.
