CIRCA 1950s ONOTO DE LA RUE BLUE MARBLED FOUNTAIN PEN ORIG BOX M-BBB FLEX NIB RESTORED

$195.00
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1950s Onoto de La Rue Dark Blue Marbled Fountain Pen in the Original Box. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition. The fountain pen celluloid is amazingly beautiful on this pen with clean trim, I cannot emphasize this enough.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. I have replaced the old sac with a new silicone one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, and Onoto 14ct NIB. I have cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Onoto measures 5 1/4" capped and 6 1/4" posted.

The fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap displays no brassing on either the clip or cap banding. The center of the barrel is stamped clearly and crisp with, "Onoto Lever Pen De La Rue London". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

I have tested the lever filling mechanism and fills as it should. The filling unit operates as it was originally intended to.

The Onoto NIB is 14CT, is a Medium, Flexible NIB that writes smooth. The actual writing portion (tip) of the 14CT Onoto NIB measures roughly .79mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a medium to triple broad stroke line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .87mm and flexes to triple broad stroke line measuring 1.97mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Comes with the original Onoto Box with Instructions. The box is in good condition but is not mint.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Onoto de La Rue Fountain Pen is a gorgeous example of color and design from the era. I would consider this Onoto to easily grade in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection. Certainly a collector grade type fountain pen with fabulous Nib!
