For your consideration, we are offering for sale this vintage Circa 1955 Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman Fountain Pen in Pastel/Aqua Blue. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful operating and writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB/feed and Nib Collar. Hand cleaned and polished the Gold Filled Clip, Cap Band and Palladium-silver Alloy NIB. There is no brassing to any of the gold filled trim areas. I clean, buffed, polished, and waxed the cap and barrel bring to back the vibrancy and to protect the plastic of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap is always securing tightly to the barrel and display in fantastic condition showing no chips, teeth marks or repairs. The cap displays the Sheaffer "White Dot" at the top of the cap and in excellent condition. This Sheaffer Snorkel measures 5 9/16" in length capped and 6 3/8" posted.

The Snorkel was fitted with a new silicone #14 sac, o-ring, and point seal which have been replaced with correct reproduction parts. The pen has been disassembled, cleaned and inspected for any defects before reassembling. The snorkel tube moves freely and draws ink as it was designed to now that proper restoration has been completed.

The Palladium-silver Alloy X4 Conical NIB has an extra fine/fine point measuring roughly .45mm when measuring with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, the NIB writes with a double extra fine to an extra fine line which measures roughly .29mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman model is restored and working magnificently. It has fabulous color and I would grade this Snorkel in excellent to near mint condition after the restoration. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
