PLEASE NOTE: You are not purchasing a fountain pen with this listing. You are purchasing a restoration service for one fountain pen that you will send to Antique Digger.
This restoration service is intended for one vintage fountain pen using a traditional lever-filling or button-filling system.
For button-fillers, this service is intended for pens utilizing a filling system similar to the Parker Duofold-style button filler. This service does not include the Parker VS filling system or Waterman’s Ink-Vue lever-filling system.
What This Restoration Includes
I will restore your vintage lever-filler or button-filler fountain pen to proper working order by:
- Replacing the old ink bladder with a new bladder
- Cleaning the pen
- Cleaning and adjusting the nib
- Testing the filling system and writing performance
The goal is to return your vintage fountain pen to proper, reliable working order while preserving as much of its original character as possible.
Replacement Parts
This service does not include the replacement of broken or missing parts.
If I determine that your pen requires a replacement part and an appropriate replacement is available, I will contact you before performing any additional work. I will provide you with the cost of the part and any additional labor required.
At that point, you can decide whether you would like to proceed with the additional repair. No additional repair work will be performed without your approval.
Important Information About Vintage Pens
Please understand that vintage fountain pens are often many decades old. Celluloid, hard rubber, plastic, and other vintage materials can become brittle, fragile, or otherwise weakened with age.
Although I take considerable care when working on every pen, there is always a risk that an aged component may crack, break, discolor, or otherwise fail during the restoration process.
Antique Digger cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from the inherent age or fragility of vintage materials, including breakage or changes to the color or finish of the pen during restoration.
If a pen breaks during the restoration process and cannot reasonably be restored, I will return the pen to you along with your payment for the restoration service, less applicable shipping costs.
Shipping & Return Insurance
Your pen should be shipped securely and appropriately packaged to protect it during transit.
If you would like the return shipment to be insured, please contact me with the amount of insurance you would like. I will add the additional shipping/insurance cost and provide you with an invoice.
Sending Your Pen to Antique Digger
I receive a large number of pens for restoration, so please include a printed note with your pen containing the following information:
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Physical Mailing Address
This information helps me properly identify your pen and contact you regarding your restoration.
My typical turnaround time for this service is 3–7 business days after I receive your pen, although turnaround times can vary depending on my current restoration workload and whether additional parts or repairs are required.
Please send your fountain pen to the address listed on the Antique Digger Contact Page.
If you have questions before sending your pen, please contact Antique Digger.
Please Remember
The photographs shown in this listing are examples of the types of filling systems covered by this service. They are not the actual pen you will receive.
You are sending your own vintage fountain pen to Antique Digger for restoration.
For this service, I will replace the bladder, clean the pen, clean and adjust the nib, and test the filling system with the goal of returning your vintage lever-filler or button-filler fountain pen to proper working order.
