RESTORED 1946 PARKER 51 DOUBLE JEWEL FOUNTAIN PEN WITH 14K DIAMOND CLIP AND BLIND CAP TASSEL

$360.00
For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1946 Parker 51 Double Jewel Fountain Pen with marked 14K Clip and Blind Cap Tassel in Black. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, hood, cap, barrel and NIB. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the 1/8 - 14K Gold Filled Lined Cap, 14K Gold Arrow Diamond Clip, Clutch Ring, 14K Blind Cap Tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, blind cap and hood to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker 51 measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The fountain pen cap, barrel, blind cap and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The 1/8 - 14K Gold FIlled Lined Cap has a 14K (marked) Gold Diamond Clip that has been polished and now shines bright. The Gold Filled Cap has vertical lines and plain banding at the lip. The cap is clearly stamped with, "1/8 14K GOLD FILLED MADE IN U.S.A.". The cap has no denting or scratching - dare I say it is in Perfect / Near Mint Condition. The Blind Cap has a stamped 14K Solid Gold Tassel. Both the cap and blind cap have the plastic jewels that have been polished to lovely shine. The barrel is stamped on two lines, "PARKER 51 MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 6 (1946) in the 1st Quarter". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The clutch ring retains all of the center gold plating.

I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 7 to 10 presses. The filling unit has been greased and operates as it was originally intended and very smoothly.

The Parker NIB is 14K and writes smooth. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .74mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine / medium line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .60mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a classic, gorgeous example from Parker with a rich 1/8 - 14K Gold Filled Cap and has the desirable combination of the 14K Solid Gold Clip & Blind Cap Tassel. I would consider this Parker grade in Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.

NOTE: There is no blind cap / barrel / hood discoloration - the reflection off the camera body may give the appearance the color is not matching, but I will assure the color is matching across the pen hood, barrel and blind cap.
