I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K "V" NIB. Buffed and Polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and, indeed, it looks fantastic.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks, or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with only very minor brassing. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color, also, with just a small hint of brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 6 (for 1946) in the second quarter". The transparency of the barrel is great and one can see through it clearly, albeit does have minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. There are no personalizations or monograms to either the cap or barrel on this fountain pen. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 7 presses and it will roughly 7/8 full. This Vacu-Fill unit is in excellent condition; it operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
The 14K Parker "V" NIB performs wonderfully and has a smooth, wet Nib with a medium point measuring roughly .76mm, measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to broad stroke/line. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke on the horizontal lines that measure .52mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.18mm with normal to medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a gorgeous, RESTORED Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Green-Gold Celluloid where the color just "pops". I would grade this Duofold in the Excellent Condition. It is ready to write with or just add to writing arsenal collection.
