For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1930 Jade & Black Vein Conklin Endura Symetrik Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the feed, section, cap, barrel and NIB. Replaced the old sac with a new, #17 Size silicone sac. Hand polished the Conklin Clip, Double Gold Filled Cap Banding, and 14K Conklin Endura NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Conklin Endura Symetrik measures 5 3/16" capped and 6" posted.

The fountain pen cap, barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. In the dome of the cap, one will notice some very minor darkening, the rest of the cap has excellent color (see image 5 for greater detail). The barrel has excellent color with no darkening. The clip, at the high points, displays some very minor brassing. The barrel is stamped clearly and crisply, "TRADE CONKLIN MARK TOLEDO OHIO USA ENDURA SYMETRIK". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

I have tested the Lever filling mechanism with water and fills as it should.

The Conklin Endura NIB is 14K and has a bit of flex. The actual writing portion of the 14K Conklin Endura NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .53mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to double broad stroke / line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .45mm and double broad line measures 1.36mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This vintage Conklin Endura Symetrik Fountain Pen is a great example from Conklin with great color. I would consider this Conklin to grade in Very Fine to Excellent Condition, if there wasn't that minor darkening at the dome portion of the cap I wouldn't have hesitation in grading it in excellent condition. This Conklin is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
