SCARCE 1939 PARKER VACUMATIC SR MAXIMA COIN STACKED JEWELER CAP BAND FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Very Scarce and Restored 1939 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Double Jewel Fountain Pen in Golden Pearl Celluloid with the rare gold-filled Jeweler's Coin Stack cap banding. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.

The NIB, Feed, Section, and Breather Tube have been ultrasonically cleaned. I replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized-one. I have hand-polished the gold-filled Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, gold-plated Coin Stacked Jeweler's Cap Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in spectacular condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Golden Pearl color is simply beautiful. The cap has the Blue Diamond Arrow Gold FIlled Clip which does not display any wear. The Jeweler's Gold Filled cap banding displays no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel, and blind cap of the fountain pen and have been polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 9 (for 1939) in the 3rd Quarter. NOTE: The date code number is nearly worn away - I had to use magnification and the right angle of light to barely make out an outline of the 9 date code". The barrel transparency is very good, a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The cap and barrel are free of any personalizations or monograms.

The rarity of this pen lies in the Jeweler's Coin Stacked Cap Banding. These jeweler's cap band fountain pens were only produced for a limited time. These Jeweler's Cap Bands are considered scarce and coveted by collectors. I have only had three in 16 years of collecting which is less than the amount of "VACUMATIC BAND" Vacs I have owned over the years.

This Parker Maxima Vacumatic retains the correct "Speedline" filling unit that was produced for 2nd Generation Vacumatic and works flawlessly. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-16 presses to fill roughly full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly.

This Parker Vacumatic NIB is 14K Gold and has a medium point (iridium) that measures .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided in the images, the stroke/line ranges from .53mm to .76mm when measuring with digital calipers. The nib on the Maxima writes very well. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink.

This Parker Golden Pearl Senior Maxima Fountain Pen with Jeweler's Coin Stack Cap Banding is as good as it can get - the celluloid is vibrant, has the striped jewels, the barrel has very good transparency, the trim is very clean and bright, and it is a Senior Maxima with the scarce Jeweler's Coin Stacked Cap banding. I consider this Maxima to easily grade in Excellent Condition and will certainly be a treasured addition to your writing arsenal collection.
